Spring at the Vineyard

Hands at work.Spring is a time of getting ready for the regrowth of the vines. We've been busy for several weeks now with trimming. It's hard to imagine how much of the vine has to be pruned away in order that plenty of grapes will be able to grow for next fall.

We've posted a few "before" and "after" photos of us giving each vine its spring "haircut".
Before trimming

This is the "before" photo.

This is the after photo!
After photoEach vine is taken down to four main shoots and 32-40 buds. Then all is ready for it to start growing all over again!
